The milk produced by Wisconsin’s more than 7,000 dairy farmers contributes a total of $45 billion annually to the State’s dairy industry and supports 157,000 jobs.

Nearly 90% of the milk produced in Wisconsin is made into cheese. If Wisconsin were a country, its total cheese production of 3.3 billion pounds would make it the 4th largest cheese producer in the world only after all of the US, Germany and France.

Today, Wisconsin produces 25% of the total US cheese production and 48% of all the specialty cheese (818 million pounds). In its pursuit of continued overall growth and sustainability, the dairy industry is supported by organizations such as the Center for Dairy Research, the Wisconsin Cheesemakers Association, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the World Dairy Expo organization — all based out of Madison, WI.

Having a strong dairy infrastructure is important to get to the next level. New Horizons Agriculture, LLC feels privileged to be networking with, and at times working together on a project basis with these and other organizations in Wisconsin creating win-win situations for the industry.
